— one of the 30-or-so songs in all of music history with No Known Upper Volume Limit. Song was so good, bought this debut EP. Was so good, bought their followup album. Pretty good too.
02-01 Bruno Mars – Doo-Wops & Hooligans 06 – Marry You (2010)
— if you’ve been to a wedding, any wedding, in the last 13 years, you know this song. Odd, since the lyrics clearly say: “something dumb to do.”

— the whole concert had a fairytale/wonderland theme, the singer at the beginning is Gayle Moran, Chick Corea’s wife.

— everyone forgets this album was not only a double CD, but two separate albums. This is from the second disc, fittingly “Twilight To Starlight”.

— big star of the show was Ray Bolger, yes the Cowardly Lion in Wizard Of Oz. Mel Brooks didn’t write the music, he wrote the “book” for the show.

03-03 Electric Light Orchestra – Out Of The Blue 05 – Night In The City (1977)
— the album is chock full of “night” songs, this one just so happens to plow straight into the next tune…

— a virtual twin to the ELO song, released as a single only a year later… hmmm, suspicious. Didn’t make the cut for the album Voulez-Vous. Made it onto the greatest-hits album “Gold” which, last i heard, is still the highest-selling album of all time.

— one of “those” albums, with not a bad song on it. Jim Carroll says: “Every poet owes it to his readers to become a rock star.” So he did.
